This weekend we spent our first weekend together as a family in TX. At this point, our accommodation situation is a little weird to say the least.
We closed on our Wyoming home Jan 26th. We packed up Jan 27th. However, the home we are purchasing will only be ours as of Feb 22nd. We didnt want to stay in a hotel for 3 weeks due to 2 reasons…..it may get crammed with 3 kids, 2 adults and a dog AND it will cost a fortune! So my hubby found this home on 3 acres – not far from our new home, where the owner rents out the rooms and we all have access to her kitchen, bathroom and so forth.
This weekend she was out aswell as the other 2 tenants, so we pretty much had the home to ourselves.
The thing that struck me the most was that for the last 5 years, we would watch the Superbowl wearing some form of winter gear ie snow boots, beanie, gloves, ski jackets……. this year was a little different; we bbq’ed on the patio and baked in the sun. The kids were playing soccer outside, explored the neighbors fields and shot with their slingshots.
Its a different world out here! Of course, as I am a white African, this is waaayyy up my alley. The only bummer is that today is the day after Superbowl and the weather turned a little in the opposite direction. Not really what I was hoping for but beggers cant be choosers.
